DESCRIPTION
The Bunker is a free program for teens in sixth through 12th grades: a safe, no-pressure place to learn and make art. We have created an encouraging art space with professional artists who promote art as a viable activity and/or career path.
Friday afternoons in the classroom at Northwind Art School, the teaching artists give demonstrations and work alongside the teens on a variety of projects. Snacks are provided too! Teens have a chance to express themselves, collaborate with one another and find their own creative voices.
The Bunker’s founders include Margie McDonald, Julie Read and Michele Soderstrom. Many other generous artists have shared, and continue to share, their skills and creativity.
Pre-registration is not required, but highly encouraged!
Bunker is co-hosted by Northwind Art and PTArtscape.
A parent/guardian permission slip is required for all participants. A new one needs to be filled out every academic year. The form can be accessed and filled out here.
