REBECCA NERISON of Port Townsend creates her abstract paintings as a way to feel deeply into her essence, to discover things she doesn’t yet know about herself and the world. She loves the freedom of making abstract art: the license to play, to make a mess, to cover and uncover. “There is great joy as I engage in the process of painting without much thought to the ultimate outcome,” she writes. “My hope is that viewers will share the same sense of joy, freedom, and adventure I experience when making the work.” Because she values the work of local community organizations, Rebecca dedicates half of her net sales to nonprofits such as RainShadow Chorale.
