Teach with Us

Thank you for your interest in teaching at Northwind Art!

Our classes and workshops are taught by a diverse and skilled group of 50+ instructors annually. We invite online and in-person lecture, class, and workshop proposals year-round and schedule them in advance on a semester basis. We seek to create a balanced curriculum by medium, content, level, timing, and prospective audience.

We provide administrative support and transaction processing for all classes, so our teaching artists need only focus on their teaching. This includes all student inquiries and communications ahead of the class. Northwind Art additionally provides Zoom Pro hosting for our online classes and provides light technical help for you and your students.

To promote and fill upcoming classes, we feature them in our bi-weekly newsletter, which is sent to more than 5,000 subscribers. We also post on community calendars and share through social media daily with thousands of followers. We place marketing materials for our classes in our downtown gallery, other venues in Jefferson County and other marketing channels.

In addition to the form below, three to four high-resolution images representing what participants will create or learn during your course and one professionally rendered headshot must be sent to registrar@NorthwindArt.org with the proposed course name in the subject line.

If the course has been offered successfully in the past (minimum enrollment met or exceeded), a new proposal is not necessary.

If a class has been offered in the past and canceled due to low enrollment (based on most recent offering), a new proposal is encouraged, but not required. In your proposal include a rationale for offering it again. For example, you have a group of participants ready to sign up; you have established stronger and more effective avenues for promoting your class; you have restructured the class.

To submit a returning course proposal, email the Education Director at education@NorthwindArt.org with new dates you are available to teach the course. Approved courses are generally scheduled on a first-proposed basis.
