Exhibit with Us

The call is open for Small Expressions

Small Expressions is Northwind Art's juried small works exhibit designed to encourage art purchases for the gift-giving season. Artists in all media are invited to submit works no larger than 16 inches in any direction, including frame and mount. All submitted works must be for sale. The application is here, and the deadline for submissions is October 12.

Artworks will be juried online from submitted images; the exhibit will be held at Northwind Art's Jeanette Best Gallery in downtown Port Townsend from November 20, 2025 through January 5, 2026. A cash prize will be presented for the Jurors' Choice Award.

Unlike most other exhibits where all selected work is on view for the entirety of the show, when work is sold at this exhibit, the purchaser can take home the piece. It will then be replaced with a new work. Selected artists will have one to three artworks displayed at a time, with a few pieces in backstock ready to replace any artworks that have been sold.

Artwork will be chosen by a panel of Northwind Art curators including local artists Margaret Woodcock and Diane Urbani, as well as staff members from the Northwind Art exhibits team. They will judge the quality, professionalism, and sales potential of the work. Each artist may submit a maximum of seven entries. Submitted digital images should represent the quality and nature of the work. Work that is considerably different than the submitted images may not be accepted. Artists must submit an image showing each artwork in its entirety. Only one image per artwork may be submitted.

All submitted artwork must be available for sale.

Showcase 2026 is also open for applications!

We encourage artists to visit the CaFE proposal page for information about being part of the Showcase 2026 exhibition at Jeanette Best Gallery in Port Townsend next year. The application deadline is October 19, 2025.

The Showcase 2026 program will feature 35 local and regional artists who will show across three separate periods: from January 26 - May 11, May 14 - September 7, and September 10 - January 4.

Showcase 2026 Artists will be chosen by a panel of Northwind Art curators. That panel will consist of three Northwind Art exhibits/gallery staff members and two local artists, Anne Schneider and Suzanne Lamon. They will be judging the quality, professionalism, and sales potential of the work. The selection panel will look for a cohesive body of work from each artist. Final artist selections will reflect a variety of media, techniques, and styles.

In our efforts to provide opportunities for local artists, and to show our visitors local art, the Showcase 2026 program is generally geared toward artists living in Jefferson, Clallam, Mason, Kitsap, and Island counties, but it is open to other regional artists outside those counties. All art must be hand-delivered and picked up from Jeanette Best Gallery in Port Townsend.

NORTHWIND ART has three exhibition programs year round: the Jeanette Best Gallery program, the Artists Showcase, and the Community Art Program. The Jeanette Best program brings juried and invitational exhibits into the streetside space of the Jeanette Best Gallery in downtown Port Townsend. The Artists Showcase is an annual program presenting local artists in the adjacent Showcase space. The Community Art Program is an invitational program that places local artists' work on view at Jefferson Healthcare Hospital in Port Townsend.
