KATHLEEN FAULKNER, now of Anacortes, was born and raised in Seattle, where she taught herself to draw at an early age. She has spent much of her childhood and adult life in the wilderness, and is committed to preserving and documenting the natural beauty of our world.
“What we see is less than it was but more than it may be in the future. My goal is to convey that love of our natural world in my artwork,” she writes.
Kathleen received formal training at the Cornish College of the Arts in Seattle. She works in oil pastels, oils, and graphite, and following a jewelry apprenticeship, she is also a jewelry artist.
