Small Expressions

an exhibition for the giving season

November 22, 2024 - January 6, 2025

This juried exhibition brings together 40 artists from across the Pacific Northwest — each working within the parameters of 16 inches in all directions.

The Small Expressions artists have created work in a wide range of media, from stained glass to block prints, from oil paintings to handwoven fibers, and from pinhole photography to jewelry inspired by nature.

This year's artists, who bring more than 200 works to the show, come from Port Townsend, Seattle, Port Angeles, Sequim, Bainbridge Island, Hillsboro, Oregon, Port Hadlock, Port Ludlow, Nordland and other communities around the region.

The best-in-show prize

Our Small Expressions jurors — Jaiden Dokken, Northwind Art Exhibits Coordinator, Port Townsend designer and teaching artist Shannon Kidd and artist and Creative District manager Mitzi Jo Gordon — have chosen Anna Moore's "Glacier Rocks" for the Jurors' Award. This piece is a Risograph-printed photo artist's book inspired by Moore's travels to the Arctic Circle.

Gallery hours: 12-5 PM Thursdays through Mondays
