DESCRIPTION
Dive into the bold and tactile world of woodcut printmaking in this engaging, one-day workshop led by artist Charles Spitzack. Whether you're completely new to printmaking or looking to revisit the process with fresh eyes, this class offers a welcoming space to explore, create, and connect with others through art. Throughout the day, you'll learn the fundamentals of woodcut printmaking—from sketching your design and safely carving your block to inking and hand-printing your image. Using traditional Japanese washi paper and non-toxic inks, you'll create striking, high-contrast prints with tools and materials that are accessible and easy to use at home.

What makes this workshop extra special is the printmaking exchange. At the end of the class, you'll swap prints with your fellow participants, building a small collection of original artworks and celebrating the diversity of creative voices in the room.

Come for the art, stay for the community—this workshop is a chance to try something new, express yourself through print, and walk away with both your own handmade work and a deeper appreciation for the printmaking process.

All materials are provided—just bring your ideas and curiosity!

SUPPLY INFORMATION
All materials and supplies are provided with the materials fee. Cutting-tools will be loaned to each student.
