DESCRIPTION
Come and learn about the unique printing process using the Risograph! Risograph printing is a method of printmaking that can be thought of as digital screen printing. It is known for the vivid use of color not achieved by other kinds of printers, imperfection, and unique texture. Local Risograph artist Shannon Kidd is thrilled to offer an introductory course that covers Risograph printing basics and history!

This course will get you comfortable with the methodology of prepping work to be printed in a multi-layer process on the unusual Risograph machine. We will focus on narration and storytelling to make a group project that everyone gets to take home at the end of the class! After this course you will be familiar with the printing process as well as how to prepare and set up images for sending work to be printed by Risograph studios.

SUPPLY INFORMATION
All course materials and supplies, including paper, ink, and masters, are provided with the materials fee.

COURSE DETAILS
After registration, course details are available via the Northwind Art School learning portal. Learn more

ABOUT SHANNON
Shannon Kidd is a design educator and Riso tech who has been working with finicky machines for almost a decade. Their practice is informed by community and storytelling, and the usage of the Riso helps bring that work to life with juicy colors. When not illustrating and printing flyers on the Riso, they can be found zipping around the peninsula on their bike or rooting around in the dirt in search of some fresh inspiration.
