DESCRIPTION
Whether you sketch, draw, or paint in any style, from photos or by observation, it is hard to create a convincing building if you don't understand two-point perspective. When we first learn we practice being precise, but if you have ever watched an urban sketcher or plein air painter quickly draw the lines of the building making it appear to be perfectly three-dimensional you know they learned the concepts of two-point perspective and practiced until it became intuitive.
Teaching artist Anne Pfeiffer will demonstrate and explain both a simple two-point perspective exercise and how to apply it to a building. After practicing, we will move outside and sketch the wonderful buildings close by on the Fort Worden grounds.
