DESCRIPTION
Improvisational quilting is a way to explore quilting intuitively without using rulers, templates, pins, or a plan. Teaching artist Robin O'Neil will assist you in learning to make seven different fabric components which can then be used to create an original quilt. Through this process, you will be able to explore many color combinations and choose to combine them using a “medallion” or “column” style. In addition, a demonstration of the “quilt as you go” process will be included for students interested in learning the technique. This hands-on workshop will also be enriched with an in-depth presentation comparing traditional, modern, and improvisational styles of quilt making, including several examples of quilts made by Robin.
