DESCRIPTION
A dotted mandala is a circular symmetrical design created with painted dots of various colors and sizes, perfectly aligned on an axis. In this class, Carol Middelburg will demonstrate the techniques necessary for you to make your own dotted mandalas. Using smooth, flat stones (provided) you will create mandalas, first by practicing on paper and then on stones, incorporating design balance, symmetry, and color selection.

Carol will teach you a bit about the history of mandalas and the necessary steps for creating them using acrylic paints and tools (also provided). You will learn a few troubleshooting tips and how to finish your rocks to protect them should you wish to place them outside. Dotting mandalas is a mindful, calming art-- great for reducing stress, but also filled with fun!

Carol has taught dozens of people to dot stones of the past few years, including her sister, Pat Grainger, who will be assisting with this course. Carol and Pat want to warn you that dotting can be addictive!
