DESCRIPTION
Join teaching artist Tracy Grisman for a plein air painting meetup! Each individual meetup will meet in a different location! Tracy will provide a quick demo and offer critique and support individually. 9:00AM is a time for the serious artist, and together you will continue to hone your ability to capture the light and beauty of this incredible place that we live!

SUPPLY INFORMATION
Please wear layers! During the workshop, a variety of weather conditions may happen and you will paint better if you are comfortable. Remember you can always take layers off! Please bring a water bottle for yourself to stay hydrated. Snacks, coffee and teas will be provided.

  • Easel and palette (Masonite Board, glass, or disposable sheets).
  • Paints: oils, pastel, acrylic (Tracy will demo in oils). Additional detail on colors will be provided upon registration.
  • Palette knife and brushes: a variety is nice (Filberts, rounds and flats/brights in small, medium, and large sizes).
  • Surface: Traditional surfaces like primed panels or smooth linen canvas, although you can use many other materials like Styrofoam or tile!
  • Brush cleaner and rags.
  • Linseed oil/odorless spirits in a can or jar with lid.
  • Extras: Water, camera, sunscreen, hat, apron, viewfinder.

ABOUT TRACY
Tracy Grisman learned to paint with oils at Philadelphia College of Art in 1976 having earned a Saturday school scholarship for young painters. Then while earning her B.S.N., Tracy learned more about the medium from Gary Moeller at Rogers State College (1986). Since then she has studied with Craig Nelson, Camille Przewodek, Max Ginsburg and others and earned her MFA IA from Goddard College.

CANCELLATION POLICY
If Northwind Art has to cancel a course for any reason, all enrolled students will receive a 100% refund (including any materials fee).

Students who withdraw from a course at least seven days prior to its first meeting will receive a 90% refund (less any materials fee).

Students withdrawing fewer than seven days from the first day of class are not eligible for a refund except in the case of illness or injury, in which case they are eligible to receive a 40% refund (less any materials fee).

Please note that 10% of every course’s registration fee is considered to be a non-refundable deposit in cases of withdrawal to cover administrative overhead. All refunds will be applied to the same credit card that was used for enrollment. No credits or transfers will be granted. Please contact registrar@northwindart.org for more information.
