DESCRIPTION
Join teaching artist Dana Weir in a week of mixed-media magic! This camp will allow students to truly explore and experiment with a wide range of materials and projects! We will paint, draw, and collect materials to develop multi-layered artworks. Part of the week will be spent exploring the beaches and forests of the Fort Worden campus to gather natural materials for artistic use. Dana will also provide a treasure trove of small objects and paper pieces, guiding students to consider how the fragments relate to the whole. As we work, we will discuss composition and symbolic content as we transform diverse scraps into new artworks.

ABOUT DANA
Dana Weir’s work has been exhibited in many invitational and juried shows in Oregon and Washington, most recently at Grover Gallery and Northwind Art’s Jeanette Best Gallery in Port Townsend. Dana enjoys living in Port Townsend and exploring many urban and wild environments around the Puget Sound region. In addition to being a studio artist, Dana works as an art educator for local schools and organizations, including Swan School, the Benji Project, the Clemente Course, and Northwind Art.
