DESCRIPTION
Drawing from her own studio practice, Meg Kaczyk introduces you to an art journaling process that can illuminate your life. All of us go through transitions both joyful and sorrowful, from sources as varied as we are. Art making helps us transform the shakiness of change into a fullness of being. In this workshop, you’ll learn about the journal as an art form across many styles; you will use observations of your daily life to inspire art making; you’ll be guided in prompted writing sessions; and you’ll be inspired by writings from others. You’ll begin putting words and images together in your hardbound sketchbook, using media of your choice (collage, paint, pencil, mixed media, etc.). By joining together the present and the remembered, your art journal can open up your sense of an emerging self, and become a habit that feeds the soul.

SUPPLY INFORMATION
A hardcover sketchbook and additional mediums for exploration in writing and mark making will be provided to all students with the materials fee.

Students should bring:

  • Lined notebook and pen for free writing sessions.
  • Preferred painting/drawing mediums (mixed media, watercolor, collage, acrylic, pencil, etc.).
