DESCRIPTION
In this workshop you will learn the basics of both rubber and linoleum printmaking, including how to carve, ink, and print your stamps on both fabric and paper. We will discuss the various tools required for these processes, with emphasis on the differences between rubber and linoleum. Jaiden will guide students through each technique; no prior experience required. Students from Jaiden's previous rubber-specific or linoleum-specific courses are encouraged to come and learn new materials and hone your skills!

Paper and all printmaking tools will be provided, though students are encouraged to bring multiple items of cloth/clothing that they would like to print on. Attendees will leave with up to five printed items and their own carved stamps (which they can use to print more items in the future!).

SUPPLY INFORMATION
All paper and tools are provided as part of the materials fee.

Students are encouraged to bring multiple items of clothing/cloth that they would like to print on. When selecting your textile, choose cloth that is lighter in color (so that the ink shows up clearly) and is not ridged/quilted/mesh. We want the stamp to press flat onto a surface without seams, ridges, holes, etc. Basic t-shirts, bandanas, cloth napkin sets, and sweatshirts are all good options. Some examples of fabrics that may not receive prints well include: terry cloth, spandex, thermal knit, knitted yarn/wool, fleece. Students who have their own carving tools are welcome to bring them.
