MELINDA MARTINEZ ROBINSON of Sequim says photography has filled her life with joy, artistic expression, frustration, and a great deal of learning and passion.
This art form inspires her to search for moments, snippets that sharpen her overall view of the world and life. A self-taught digital photographer, Melinda loves to capture images from the natural world, and birds are among her favorite subjects, be they herons, doves, tanagers or white-crowned sparrows. The artist makes use of focal depth to showcase her subjects, drawing out detail and expression.
“Photography allows me to snatch snippets of life and save them in my pocket,” Melinda writes.
“The blink of an eye can be cemented into a tangible memory,” sometimes an inspection of detail, other times an intense experience of emotion.
