Showcase Artist Linnie Hodge

LINNIE HODGE of Olympia makes art to reflect life: moments in time, experiences, surroundings and feelings. “It captures the good, the bad and everything in between,” writes the artist and musician. Linnie adds that creating visual art has
      many parallels to making music.

“There’s a composition, a melody, lyrics, harmony and a rhythm that all come into play,” she says.

Linnie loves to paint large and loose and abstract, integrating collage, linework, bold and muddy colors. And Linnie craves the color blue.

“I want to swim in it and be reminded of the cool spray of water on my face,” she writes.
Linnie has exhibited and won awards for her art around the Puget Sound region. Studying with master teaching artists, she explores the freedom of form and emotional depth found in the abstract.
