DESCRIPTION
You'll begin with a single stitch. Each crease, each stitch, transforms flat fabric into an architectural wonder reminiscent of paper origami yet rendered in soft textiles that ripple with light and shadow. For this workshop, all you need to know is how to thread a needle. Teaching artist Kristine Berg then guides you through the precise, meditative practice of origami fabric manipulation.

With a ruler, needle, and thread, we'll follow measured pathways to transform fabric into sculptural shapes that echo land forms, waves, and basketry. Our first day starts with creating grids and learning to interpret design charts, to stitch a variety of pattern options, and experimenting with different fabrics. On the second day, we will choose your favorite sample and appliqué it to a pre-made cushion cover.
