SANDRA OFFUTT began her formal art
education in her teens, studying with Florida
artist George Earl Fox. Later, after retiring from
the American Foreign Service, she embarked on
a period of self-guided art education, including
classes with Diane Ainsworth, Larisa Aukon, Camille Przewodek and Scott Gellatly. Sandra’s sense of composition developed during the three years she lived in Japan, while nearly four decades of living in and visiting Greece and many winters in Arizona also inform her painting. In both places, she says, it’s that unfiltered light through dry air that clarifies color.
