ROSE GUASTELLA seeks to capture the light,
the air, the weather, and most of all the peace of
water, land and sky. “When I paint birds or other
animals, I always try to portray them as I observe
them, without being impacted by my presence,” she writes.
“My goal is always to invite my viewer into each place I’ve created, to see what I saw ... and to think about what it means to be there. I try to leave room in each painting for that to happen. It’s why I rarely put human forms into my work. The humans I want are the ones looking in.”
