INA XI paints to savor everyday lived experiences.
Influenced by her immigrant background and life
on three different continents, she weaves together
natural and cultural elements, and seeks to
transport the viewer to a specific place and time.
As an art educator, Ina has dedicated herself to creating accessible and student-centric learning experiences for watercolor — a medium
known for its unpredictable temperament and steep learning curve.
Her teaching emphasizes strong values, shapes and contrasts, as well as bold mark-making inspired by Chinese calligraphy. Her videos can be found on her YouTube channel.
Ina’s honors include the Emerging Artist Award at the 2025 Collective Visions Gallery exhibit in Bremerton and first place in the 84th Northwest Watercolor Society International Open.
