FRED VIDEON was a teenager when he discovered his first artistic interest in black and white photography. He later earned a degree in engineering from Stanford University, then a bachelor of fine arts in painting at the University of Washington. Following a career in technology, Fred moved to Port Townsend and returned to making art full time.
Each of Fred’s paintings is a process of discovery. Through repeated cycles of revision and repainting, he searches for shapes and lines with character. His work embraces visual uncertainty, allowing unexpected relationships to emerge through the painting process. He’s interested
in how compositions can suggest depth, movement, and atmosphere, and he seeks to create work that invites viewers into a space of open interpretation.
