DESCRIPTION
Become enamored with the art of making your own books: transforming paper into booklets using folds and stitches. This workshop is ideal for people wanting to dip their toes in the world of book- and zine-making.  Do you have some sketches or writing that you want to turn into a collection? Do you dream of making your own journals, or want to learn a new craft? This workshop is for you.

We will start by looking at examples of simple book forms, such as sewn booklets, 8-page zines, and accordions. You will become familiar with the basics of bookbinding using common materials and three- or five-hole booklet sewing. Next we will explore more techniques to expand and personalize your booklets, such as pop-ups, fold-outs and cutouts. You'll come away familiar with several simple book formats, and a booklet made by you! In just over an hour, you will have the knowledge you need to go home and put together your own artistic zine.

SUPPLY INFORMATION
Non-refundable supply fee covers the basic supplies you will need. Feel free to bring your own collage, drawing, writing, and scrapbooking materials to play with.
