DESCRIPTION
Join artist Sue Stanton for a fun class for beginning and intermediate rock-wrappers. Wrapping stones is an art form that has been practiced for centuries, and is renowned for its spiritual benefits. The practice enhances positive energy and helps create a deeper connection between us and nature, Sue finds. Today, wrapping rocks has evolved into traditions both decorative and spiritual.
Perhaps you have a favorite stone, shell or finding that you hold dear, and you would like to incorporate it into a keepsake. You are encouraged to bring up to three oval, flat, and smooth rocks that will comfortably fit in your hand (about the size of a cell phone) and a few other "findings," such as a twig, key, feather, shell, charm, etc. Your materials fee covers all of your wrapping materials and tools.
Our time together will be spent learning new techniques for rock wrapping as well as applications for your enjoyment. You will go home with at least one stone that you have wrapped, plus written instructions for future artwork, along with a memorable experience. If you did not attend the Intro to Rock Wrapping class, no worries! Beginners are encouraged and welcome in this next step in the process. You’re also encouraged to attend both beginning and intermediate rock wrapping workshops, to develop your skills for the future advanced rock wrapping class.
