DESCRIPTION
Drawing portraits is both an analytical and intuitive art form, and this six-week course will guide you in uncovering the secrets behind how portrait artists create their magic. Taught by experienced instructor Anne Pfeiffer, the class combines skill-building exercises, an exploration of portrait artists' techniques, and hands-on practice with live models and photo references.

You will learn to capture both the physical and emotional essence of your subjects, whether your style leans toward expressive or realistic. The course culminates in a collection of notes, exercises, sketches, and a few polished portraits to showcase your growth.

Prior experience with observational drawing, such as still life studies, is recommended. This course is an ideal next step for students who have completed Drawing Level 2 or have equivalent experience.
