DESCRIPTION
In this workshop, you get to explore hand lettering, layout, type and color! You'll choose a word, a poem, a quote, or a part of a song — any text that has meaning to you — and use paint, colored pencils and markers to illustrate it. This is your time to create a piece of art, a protest sign, a gift or an image to use anywhere.
On the first day, you'll choose your text, explore materials and media, start planning your text layout — playing and experimenting all the while. Teaching artist Lisa Anderson will provide guidance and examples for lettering as you create the outline for your final piece.
On day two, you'll transfer your sketch and focus on creating your artwork. Lisa will teach you about letterform, color and layout strategies, and help you discover your own unique style.
