DESCRIPTION
The most-read page on any website is the About page. But telling an authentic and relatable story is a challenge for many businesses, especially for artists and makers who want to spend their time creating. Ironically, the best About page doesn’t just tell your story well, but it allows the reader to see a bit of themselves in it. It has the potential to turn the curious individual into a trusted customer.

Once you nail your story, you can modify it for use in all the areas you need it, from art show applications to exhibition bios and more. The workshop will include a presentation followed by hands-on exercises and feedback. In this workshop you will:

  • Learn the key benefits of a well-crafted story
  • Understand common pitfalls and what to avoid
  • Explore first person vs third person narratives
  • Discover a sound framework to tell your story
  • Get additional tips and tools to get the most out of your About page
  • Gain confidence in expressing your magic to the world

Join us and learn how to tell your story as an artist in a way that communicates as much about the people who buy your art as it does about yourself, the artist.

ABOUT JANE
Jane Pellicciotto is a second-career jewelry designer and maker after spending decades as a graphic designer. She chose jewelry as a medium for its small scale and intimate nature. She enjoys the functional aspect of jewelry and the idea that it transfers onto a physical body of another, taking on a whole new story. Her work is abstract, often colorful and has a rustic elegance. She’s inspired by the urban environment with its gritty textures, repeating patterns and forms worn by time, use and the elements. She looks for the extraordinary in the ordinary. Jane also has a robust art-making practice, combining gel plate printing and collage.

She sells her work online, in galleries and at national juried art and craft shows like the Smithsonian Craft Show and the Philadelphia Museum of Art Contemporary Craft Show. She continues to help clients establish their brands and tell their stories to the people who matter most.
