DESCRIPTION
In this workshop, you'll learn how to use the English paper-piecing technique to make hexagon quilt patches for your favorite apparel: maybe a sweatshirt that has seen better days, a pair of jeans or overalls or a jacket.
With teaching artist Rita as our guide, we will hand-make one — or many — hexagon patches of various sizes. Then we will learn how to attach them to our garments, either by hand or machine depending on your preference. All you need is a piece of clothing that needs a patch in a flat area, and the knowledge of a basic whip stitch or running stitch.
Fabrics and all materials are provided, but if you have 3-by-3-inch or larger scraps you would like to use, or a hand-sewing kit you prefer, please feel free to bring them. You can also bring a clothing item for your patch(es), or opt to attach them at home. Either way, you'll come away with your own distinctive adornments!

Rita Browning, aka Panty Witch, is just a little gnome living out in the woods on the Olympic Peninsula. When they are not swimming in the lake or foraging for mushrooms, they are crafting magical art with reclaimed, upcyled and vintage materials.

CANCELLATION POLICY
If Northwind Art has to cancel a course for any reason, all enrolled students will be notified and receive a 100% refund of the course enrollment fee.
Students withdrawing from a course at least seven days prior to the first day of class will receive a 90% refund of the course enrollment fee.
Students withdrawing fewer than seven days from the first day of class are not eligible for a refund—except for illness or injury, in which case students are eligible to receive a 40% refund of the course enrollment fee.
Please note that 10% of every course’s registration fee is considered a non-refundable deposit to cover administrative overhead. Any donation given at the time of checkout is also non-refundable. All refunds will be applied to the same credit card that was used for enrollment. No credits or transfers will be granted.
