DESCRIPTION
Work with teaching artist April Ottey to make a wearable art piece inspired by the mountains, ocean, and Puget Sound of the Pacific Northwest. Using special beach finds that you bring to class or selecting from April's collection of stones, you will create your own coastal treasures necklace. Your necklace will be made by combining riveted and hinged beach stones with charms that you make in class by texturing metal with flowers, leaves, and hammers. All of these pieces will hang from a leather cord with a handmade clasp.

This is a workshop that is perfect for beginners who are eager to try something new, as well as those with some experience looking to expand their jewelry-making skills. With all materials provided and personalized guidance from April, you’ll leave with a stunning pendant and the knowledge to continue creating your own unique jewelry.

Whether you’re making something special for yourself or creating gifts for loved ones, this class is a fun and rewarding way to explore your creativity. No prior experience is needed—just come ready to learn, create, and enjoy the process!

Techniques you will learn include sawing, piercing, texturing, stamping, roll printing, drilling metal and stones, soldering, and riveting.

SUPPLY INFORMATION
All required materials and supplies will be provided with the non-refundable materials fee. Students are encouraged to bring any special stones from their own collection.
