DESCRIPTION
Make your own hand-bound sketchbook to inspire your art, techniques, and creative archives. In this hands-on workshop, artist Kim Kopp will guide you through artisan binding methods to create a sketchbook perfectly suited to your style. You will learn the fundamentals of hand bookbinding while crafting a beautiful, durable, hardbound sketchbook from start to finish.
You will leave with a 9" x 11" artist-grade sketchbook made from high-quality materials, along with the skills and confidence to continue bookbinding on your own. All tools and supplies are provided—just bring your curiosity and ideas for filling your pages.
SUPPLY INFORMATION
Material fee covers the essential tools and equipment. Students take a bookbinding kit home.
Students are encouraged to bring:
- A good pair of paper scissors
- Newspaper
- an apron
- a small hand towel

ABOUT KIM
Based in Port Townsend, Kim received a fellowship at Jentel artist residency program, Wyoming, in 2013. In 2005, Kopp was an EDGE Professional Development participant and in 2002 was awarded a GAP from Artist Trust, and a residency at Centrum in Port Townsend, WA. Kim graduated from University of Chicago, MFA, and School of the Art Institute of Chicago, BFA.

CANCELLATION POLICY
If Northwind Art has to cancel a course for any reason, all enrolled students will receive a 100% refund (including any materials fee).
Students who withdraw from a course at least seven days prior to its first meeting will receive a 90% refund (less any materials fee).
Students withdrawing fewer than seven days from the first day of class are not eligible for a refund except in the case of illness or injury, in which case they are eligible to receive a 40% refund (less any materials fee).
Please note that 10% of every course’s registration fee is considered to be a non-refundable deposit in cases of withdrawal to cover administrative overhead. All refunds will be applied to the same credit card that was used for enrollment. No credits or transfers will be granted.
