DESCRIPTION

Immerse yourself in the exciting possibilities of opaque enamel in this two-day workshop open to all skill levels. Whether you're new to enameling or looking for fresh inspiration, this class offers an opportunity to explore color, pattern, and surface design in metal under the guidance of experienced teaching artist Aran Galligan. Through the use of stencils and sifting techniques, participants will create bold patterns and rich, vibrant colors, bringing their designs to life in the kiln.

The first day focuses on the fundamentals of enameling, including how to sift enamel, apply stencils to develop striking patterns, and control the firing process. Participants will experiment with layering and color application to build depth and contrast in their designs.

On the second day, Aran will introduce basic metalworking techniques that complement enamel work. Instruction will cover cutting simple forms, preparing metal surfaces for enameling, and an introduction to using a torch.

By the end of the workshop, participants will have completed earrings, pendants, or enameled components that can be incorporated into future jewelry or artwork.

SUPPLY INFORMATION
All required materials and supplies will be provided with the non-refundable materials fee. There will be the option of purchasing additional metal components directly from the artist.
