DESCRIPTION
Before diving into the adventure of being creative with color, it helps to understand color, how colors react with one another, what their visceral effects are, and how to mix any color you can see or imagine. This exciting six-week course gives you that opportunity in an atmosphere that encourages experimentation along with understanding.

We will work with the color wheel, color theory exercises, and abstract and observational painting and collage. We will also discuss the vocabulary of visual language and the art elements and principles of design as well as discuss the differences between various painting media.

SUPPLY INFORMATION
Paint, brushes, tape, palette paper, and palette knives are provided.

Students should bring an 8" x 10" or larger mixed-media sketchbook, such as the spiral-bound 9" x 12" Canson Mixed Media Art Book. This one has 138lb paper, making it a good choice (heavier paper stands up better).

After registration, course details are available via the Northwind Art School learning portal, including course syllabus and supply information. Learn more
