DESCRIPTION
This evening we meet Christine de Pizan (1365-1430), the Renaissance writer who penned some of the first works of feminist literature. De Pizan entered an arranged marriage at age 15. Then, after she was widowed in 1389, de Pizan supported her family with her writing, including the famous "The Book of the City of Ladies."  In this discussion-format class, we'll learn about her groundbreaking work, and how she used her creativity to carve out space and power in a patriarchal world.
