Ars Poetica:
Artists responding to poetry
March 19 - May 4, 2026
Jeanette Best Gallery, 701 Water Street, Port Townsend
Ars Poetica, a Latin term for the art of poetry, is the title of a special exhibition of work by Northwind Art School students.
Eleven artists, participants in Meg Kaczyk's Paint from Poems course in February, chose a poem by a Northwest writer. They then responded to it with a variety of art media, ranging from vivid acrylic to textured collage.
In the gallery, their pieces are displayed beside their chosen poetry, showing the dialogue between the two art forms.
Join us for the Ars Poetica poetry reading, a festive event at 3 p.m. Saturday, April 25.
