DESCRIPTION
Wearable Art is not fashion, it is sculpture on the body.
This class will cover the basics from making skull caps to shin pads. We will build wire harnesses for the larger frameworks . Come with ideas of what kind of sculpture you would bring to life. You will learn construction techniques that consider movement and safety. Using a sewing awl on cardboard, hot glue, staplers and duck tape, we will make a sturdy construction that you can use again and again.
We will talk about presentation, movement, surprise elements. A variety of materials like cardboard, fabric, sail cloth, paper, vegetable net bags, plastic odds and ends will be available in the classroom and students are welcome to bring materials. Parade with PTArtscape at the Uptown Festival in August with Michele and Margie.
