Rick says, “The act of drawing is a connection between our mind and our muscles, and practice is the root of becoming proficient.” In this workshop, Rick guides exercises that help artists of any level improve their draftsmanship, ability to render, and even take some stress out of drawing! You won’t be making finished art in this class – you’ll dive into the mechanics of drawing and work on connecting body and mind to gain better control of what comes out on the paper – it’s practice training that equips you to make better art.
After registration, course details are available via the Northwind Art School learning portal, including course syllabus and Zoom links for online courses. A stable internet connection provides the best experience. Learn more
Rick studied art at Evergreen College, traveled and attended Northwest School of Wooden Boatbuilding, then discovered drawing is his kinesthetic way of learning about the world. He believes practice is the heart of an artist’s work. Detailed and narrative, Rick’s art has been featured in campaigns for Filson, and many publications.
