DESCRIPTION
“Visual magic happens on the pages of an artist’s sketchbook… it is an art object that functions as an intimate handheld gallery.”
-Sara Barnes, My Modern Met, January 17, 2019
In this four-class series, you’ll experience a wholehearted approach to creating a sketchbook that is a small, finished body of work. You’ll learn about inspiring sketchbooks from contemporary artists. Then, using visual references from photos and life with your choice of mixed media, you’ll make art pages from resonant sources including your own reflections. This engaging process is a creative way to process life’s observations, transitions, and the ordinary miracle of every day. Sketchbooks are created during and in-between weekly class time, resulting in a finished hardbound collection of your art.
A hardcover sketchbook is provided with the materials fee.
