DESCRIPTION
Tracy Grisman guides you in the process of gestural portraiture with oil paints. Demonstrations include material handling, “blocking in” the head and shoulders and how to complete your portrait sketch using color to create form. Other techniques and skills covered include achieving a likeness, color choices, and instruction on basic anatomical landmarks of the head and shoulders.

SUPPLY INFORMATION

  • Northwind Art School is equipped with most common supplies for you to use including brushes, water containers, paper towels, pencils, palettes, scrap paper etc.
  • If you have favorite surface you like to paint on, or a favorite brush or color, bring it with you.

ABOUT TRACY
Tracy Grisman learned to paint with oils at Philadelphia College of Art in 1976 having earned a Saturday school scholarship for young painters. Then while earning her B.S.N., Tracy learned more about the medium from Gary Moeller at Rogers State College (1986). Since then she has studied with Craig Nelson, Camille Przewodek, Max Ginsburg and others and earned her MFA IA from Goddard College.
