How do we grieve that which we have never known? Over the hour, this question will be our north star as Mo Walrath shares about her work currently installed at the Grover Gallery, HOW I HOLD YOU, HOW I WOULD HAVE HELD YOU: weaving threads of personal inquiry, memory and story, ritual craft within an ecological context, transmigration of craft, community-held burial, and her relationship to willow and the weaving of willow burial vessels and baskets.

One hour lecture followed by a 30-minute Q&A session. Registration is recommended, but no one will be turned away at the door.

Mo Walrath is devoted to willow and tending the living tradition of basket weaving as a form of ancestral communication and as response to the ever changing needs of the living world. She is a mother, basket/coffin maker, multi-disciplinary artist, teacher, reverent farmer, and threshold worker providing care for her community in emergent ways through the vessels she weaves.
