LOCATION: Building 306, Fort Worden, Port Townsend. (COVID protocol will be observed, read our policies here)

DESCRIPTION
Looking for new places to draw inspiration? Join teaching artist Leila Block for an evening of taking inspiration from the local herbs of this land. Participants will select a bushel of herbs and work with them to receive creative inspiration which will guide them in making a work of art in any medium they prefer. Playing with instinctive capabilities: studying color, shape, smell, taste, symbology and meaning will strengthen will ground you practices that can be applied when you are working at home! Any and all mediums are welcome. The school is equipped with paper, an assortment of paint, and pens/pencils. Bring your own materials if you want to work in a medium other than this.

SUPPLY INFORMATION

• If you already have a relationship with specific herbs or a book on herbs, you are welcome to bring them to work with.
• Herbs will be provided for everyone who needs them
• Northwind Art School is equipped with most common supplies for you to use including brushes, water containers, paper towels, pencils, palettes, scrap paper etc.

ABOUT LEILA
Leila is a versatile mixed media artist exploring a wide range of mediums and sounds. She studied ceramics and jazz at Laney College, Oakland. Leila created and hosted Art Vs The World, an artist interview series dedicated to finding hope and harmony in the creative process. Her works in ceramics and mixed media are in private collections across the United States and Europe.
