DESCRIPTION
Dyeing with plants is an ancient, grounding practice, a way to deeply connect with the ecosystems we inhabit. In this 2-day workshop students will explore the beauty and magic of botanical color.

Using the bundle dyeing processes, you will learn to create color and texture on fiber. Artist Katey Rissi will teach the fundamentals of natural dyeing - what types of materials are suitable to dye with and dye on, how to prepare them, and how to go about bundle dyeing using local plants. Students will leave the class with the knowledge they need to continue a natural dye practice at home, as well as a dye swatch book, a bundle dyed scarf, and anything they brought to class to dye.
