LEVEL: Beginner to Intermediate
AGE GROUP: Youth (ages 15-17)
LOCATION: Building 306, Fort Worden, Port Townsend. (COVID protocol will be observed, read our policies here)

DESCRIPTION
If you have always wanted to paint in oils this workshop is a great start. You will learn how to handle oil paint, but also how to design a painting using shapes, values, and color to paint our perception of how light hits and surrounds objects (or any subject). We will paint still lifes from observation and discuss how to also apply the same knowledge to other subjects, including painting from photos. No experience necessary. If you already have painting experience with oils or acrylics, this workshop will help you better understand the important foundations that all painters use. We will be maintaining a clean air, solvent-free environment so that everyone can be comfortable during this workshop.

ABOUT ANNE
Anne Pfeiffer has a graduate degree in painting and decades of experience as a high school art teacher, community college art instructor, and adult and teen workshop instructor. She currently lives in Port Angeles and paints landscapes and still lifes, often plein air, and participates in regional and national exhibitions and events.
