DESCRIPTION
This class can be what you need it to be. Jesse is here for you! He will bring paints and gear to show examples of specific techniques, but can be available to help you push through a challenging work in progress. Maybe you hit a roadblock on a painting. Maybe you have a piece in mind but don't know how to kick start the process. Jesse is happy to help point you in the right direction, find a way through a challenge, or give honest critique and suggestions. This is an opportunity to skip the basic tutorials and dive headfirst into painting alongside someone who has spent most of his life in front of an easel.
SUPPLY INFORMATION
- Materials are entirely up to you. If you need a suggested list of paints Jesse can provide one, but it is fabulous if you already have a palette in mind for this and bring the stuff you need to make it happen.
- Jesse will be bringing his own paints and materials to class and can recommend and show examples of particular colors, and Jesse is available to answer questions about materials for this class via email.

ABOUT JESSE
Jesse Joshua Watson paints pictures and tells stories. Whether hammocking in Brazil, exploring in Hong Kong, dodging taxis in Russia, painting in Greenland, studying art in Europe, playing soccer in Haiti, reasoning in Jamaica, or raising kids with his wife in the Pacific Northwest, Jesse connects with people. He loves both the differences and the similarities that are so colorfully displayed across our diverse world. Jesse's passion and appreciation of people are voiced through his brush and on his canvas. His illustrations have been featured in magazines, art publications, CD covers, children's books, on the NY Times Bestseller List and even on Oprah.
He was awarded Grand Prize in 2005 and finalist in 2006 at the international Society of Children's Book Writers and Illustrators New York Showcase, juried by art directors from major publishing houses. He has also shown at the Society of Illustrators Gallery in New York. Jesse has traveled the world extensively, often engaging in social justice and crisis response. In addition to writing and illustrating more than thirty books, exhibiting fine art and teaching art to kids, Jesse plays soccer religiously, music frequently and surfs the chilly waters of the NW as often as he can, which, as you probably guessed... is not nearly enough.
