This workshop is a series of collage sessions with teaching artist Michele Soderstrom. Bring your own magazines and pictures or explore the stash at Northwind Art School available for you to delve into. Each session will feature a different theme and technique of mixing images together to create a collage that is unique and perfect for you.

This workshop is ideal for people who are brand new to collage and paper arts, and great for people who feel bolder and braver about exploring with collage. All are welcome and will be supported at their comfort level.

Collages will include two- and three-dimensional formats. Michele has many collages and has taught art to kids and adults of all ages and abilities, and believes that the art of collage can offer visual storytelling for all. Students will leave with some very unique creations.

Bring your own pictures and 4-6 magazines with images, or explore the stash at Northwind Art School available for you. Aside from bringing your personal pictures and magazines, all other supplies will be provided.

After registration, course details are available via the Northwind Art School learning portal. Learn more

The horse pasture was Michele's grand studio as a child. Self taught, for hours she sat sketching her horse as it grazed. Michele has a BA in Visual Arts Teaching, minor in Studio Art, through Central Washington University, and is an award-winning artist with her equine art. She has taught creativity through art since 2008. Today she paints and sells work professionally. Michele enjoys watching the process of her high school students as they gain art making skills and find their place within personal creativity. She has led collage workshops in the past with the Traumatic Brain Injury Association of Washington and knows this can be a healing practice for all people.
