DESCRIPTION
Unwind with a line and find out where it leads. Using a variety of fun and unexpected mark-making challenges, this workshop explores the power of drawing to take us to new places, see the world differently, and uncover worlds in our subconscious. Often, people can miss out on entire parts of their creative selves because of getting lost or frustrated in the technical details of observational drawing. Using drawing as a tool for exploratory thinking can unlock new styles, new languages, and parts of your imagination you didn’t know existed. Grab a buddy or come solo to experiment with new ways of working.
We will explore some examples of experimental drawing from the last few decades to see the potential of unexpected ways of working. Then we’ll let loose with some moments of collaborative/partnered making, solo meditative doodling, and non-traditional drawing tools. Push the boundaries of what you consider drawing to be and discover a whole new creative self.
Refreshments will be provided. Enroll two participants and get the second seat at a 25% discount when you use the code BEYOND at checkout.
