DESCRIPTION
Do you love jewelry and want to gain or grow your skills to make your own special pieces? If so, here is a great opportunity to dive in, explore, and grow. Over a six-week course (18 hours total) with jeweler April Ottey, you will learn a variety of metalsmithing techniques including sawing, piercing, soldering, cold connections and stone setting through three different projects.
Projects include a pierced and textured pair of earrings, a bezel set cabochon sterling silver ring, and a pendant with a handmade chain. Some of the projects will be using brass and copper and the ring will be made in silver, giving you the opportunity to learn to work with various metals.
More silver will be available to purchase if students would like to continue working in this metal. You will come away with the ability to design and create your own jewelry and learn the tools of the trade.
