DESCRIPTION
Tracy Grisman guides you in the process of gestural portraiture with the medium of your choosing (Tracy will be working in oil paints). Demonstrations include “blocking in” the head and shoulders, then developing the portrait sketch using color to create form. Other techniques and skills covered include achieving a likeness, color choices, and instruction on basic anatomical landmarks of the head and shoulders.

SUPPLY INFORMATION
Students should bring their preferred medium and all necessary supplies, including surfaces, brushes, etc.

Northwind Art School is equipped with most common supplies for you to use including brushes, water containers, paper towels, pencils, palettes, scrap paper, etc.

ABOUT TRACY
Tracy Grisman learned to paint with oils at Philadelphia College of Art in 1976 having earned a Saturday school scholarship for young painters. Then while earning her B.S.N., Tracy learned more about the medium from Gary Moeller at Rogers State College (1986). Since then she has studied with Craig Nelson, Camille Przewodek, Max Ginsburg and others and earned her MFA IA from Goddard College.

CANCELLATION POLICY
If Northwind Art has to cancel a course for any reason, all enrolled students will receive a 100% refund (including any materials fee).

Students who withdraw from a course at least seven days prior to its first meeting will receive a 90% refund (less any materials fee).

Students withdrawing fewer than seven days from the first day of class are not eligible for a refund except in the case of illness or injury, in which case they are eligible to receive a 40% refund (less any materials fee).

Please note that 10% of every course’s registration fee is considered to be a non-refundable deposit in cases of withdrawal to cover administrative overhead. All refunds will be applied to the same credit card that was used for enrollment. No credits or transfers will be granted. Please contact registrar@northwindart.org for more information.
