DESCRIPTION
This class is designed to take you through the basics of drawing from observation, starting with analyzing what you are seeing, and ending with skills for drawing realistically and expressively with confidence. This in-depth class requires no previous drawing instruction and is designed to explain the "mysteries" of drawing.

You will learn to accurately draw shapes, angles, proportions, and perspective while practicing with a variety of drawing media and styles starting with contour ink line drawing, still life drawing with pencil including value tones (shading), gestural figure drawing in charcoal, portraits with charcoal and sepia, and ending with architectural drawing (urban sketching). Your instructor, Anne Pfeiffer, has taught beginning and advanced drawing at the college level for eight years as well as to high school students for three decades.
