DESCRIPTION
The autumnal equinox is a time to gather the vibrant growth of summer and welcome the growing starry nights towards winter. Willow baskets are an integral part of human life: working baskets woven with the possibility of overflowing with beloved harvests and mundane loads. How might we weave a vessel to hold the spirit of change within this golden season? Guided by artist Mo Walrath, We will call on traditional European basketry techniques and ask willow to become a strong, versatile, round basket, forming a technical foundation your hands can build upon in seasons ahead. We will then meet on the autumnal equinox for two hours as a period of reflection and ritual, to share what our vessels have gathered from the time they were woven and to seed dreams for winter into our baskets.
