DESCRIPTION
Artist Anne Schneider guides you in using Gelli art plates and acrylic paints with the addition of stencils, masks, natural material, and stamps to create original papers for use in collages. Layers and layers of interesting colors, patterns, and textures will enhance these original monoprints, which you will create without a press! Then you’ll integrate these unique papers with paint to create abstract art on canvases. This class is open to all levels.

SUPPLY INFORMATION

• Acrylic basic paints: black, white, primary colors (red, blue, yellow) and other assorted colors.
• Fluid acrylic paints, 1 fl oz. size, in assorted colors.
• Paint brushes.
• Brayer 3”-4” with rubber roller.
• Baby wipes or alcohol.
• Shaving cream (foamy, not gel).
• Scissors.
• Gelli Plate, preferably 8”x 10”.
• Any collage papers you already have, maps, music scores, text pages from books.
• Matte medium or Mod Podge.
• Marking pen.
• Paint shirt or apron to protect your clothes.
• The $10 materials fee will cover papers, canvas panels, additional paints, palette plates, palette knife, squeegees, deli paper, foam applicators, and transparent papers.
• Teacher will supply stencils, paint sticks, soft gel gloss, mark making tools, rulers, pencils, and foil.

ABOUT ANNE
Living in Port Townsend for over 20 years, Anne Schneider emerged from retirement as a mixed media collage artist. While learning techniques in collage artistry from teachers across the country she found her own unique voice, bringing a lively palette to abstraction. She is a member of Port Townsend Gallery with work in many private collections.

CANCELLATION POLICY
If you cannot attend a course for any reason, we can offer you a refund as follows:

• If you cancel more than 2 weeks before the course start date, you will receive a full refund.
• If you cancel less than 2 weeks before course start date, you will receive a 50% refund.
• If you cancel one week or less before the course start date, there will be no refund.
